Reptile and amphibian road trip! πŸŒ΄πŸ” Join myself and @_my.family.and.other.frogs_ on a whirlwind ride through Florida, chasing down snakes, salamanders and turtles in one of the coldest weeks of the year! 🐍πŸ”₯ We went from swamps to suburbs, forests to fields, and found a whole lotta cool creatures. Stay tuned for the action-packed adventure! Broad-banded Grass Frog - Ptychadena mossambica After a morning of limited success, we managed to flip this gorgeous yellow rat snake under an old piece of carpet found next to a canal in South Florida. While we were skeptical at first, given the carpets exposed position, we were quite happy with what we found underneath. This was one of six snakes seen on the day. We also managed to find another yellow rat snake, two Brahimny blind snakes, a ribbon snake and a crowned snake. We also found a whole slew of non-native lizards, too numerous to count. Poynton's River Frog - Amietia poyntoni Blue Ridge Spring Salamander - Gyrinophilius porphyriticus Rose's Mountain Toadlet - Capensibufo rosei Grootvadersbosch Dwarf Chameleon – Bradypodion venustum Kogelberg Moss Frog – Arthroleptella kogelbergensis Foam Nest Frog - Chiromantis xerampelina
